“We’ve been doing the musical since October or November. We’ve had after school rehearsal for the past two weeks for about four hours each day, and then on Saturday we had about a nine hour rehearsal. I’ve been trying really hard to balance school with the musical and it’s a really difficult balance because we have rehearsal until like nine thirty and then you’re trying to get your work done in that time. The people in the musical have been my favorite part because they’ve made the whole production come together — and that means cast, and crew, and directors. They’re really considerate and if you mess up at all they encourage you to do better.

“I signed up for the class originally because I’ve always liked theater, dance, and choir, and musical is the best of all of it. I want to be more confidence in my acting, singing, and dancing skills. That’s really one of the main reasons of why I joined. I’ve already learned not to be so afraid of people hearing me sing. I’ve learned to be proud of what I can do and learn from others what I can’t do. When I perform, I really like making people smile and I like hearing them laugh when we do something funny. It just makes you feel good to make someone else happy.”
