Westwood’s Warriors defeated the Anderson Trojans 24 to 6 in an incredibly fast-paced second regular-season game on Thursday, September 4.

Significant changes were made during practices in the days leading up to the game, and this showed early. With three minutes left in the first quarter, the Warriors were able to put their first points on the board with an eight yard touchdown pass to Travis Wilde ’15, and a successful extra point by kicker Josh Burton ’16.

It was late in the second quarter that the Trojans were able to answer with a touchdown of their own, bringing the score to 7-6 at the half.

In the second half, the offense really kicked into overdrive. Quarterback Jack Swensen ’16 was able to run the ball into the end zone for another touchdown with three minutes in the third quarter.

The Warriors finished the game off with another touchdown pass to Wilde midway through the fourth quarter. The defense played exceptionally well and kept the Trojans far away from the Warriors’ end zone.

Westwood will play Cedar Park High School at the John Gupton Stadium next Friday, September 12.
