Westwood will play Round Rock next week in a must win game in order to qualify for the playoff.
Westwood had a tough and very close football game Friday against Stony Point, losing narrowly 32-35. The first touchdown came early in the first quarter, followed several minutes later by a touchdown by Stony Point.
Before going into the second quarter, the Warriors scored on a fourth-down conversion. During the second quarter, team’s hard work paid off by allowing them to score three touchdowns, while denying Stony Point the chance to threaten the Warriors’ lead by holding them to only a single touchdown.
It was this cooperative effort by all players that let Westwood take a 32-21 lead into the half, with great plays on both sides of the ball.
However, in the second half, the Warrior offense was unable to score, and even though the Warriors put up a fight and played well all night, they were unable to bring home a victory from this game.
The Warriors will play the final game of their regular season against Pflugerville on November 8, deciding if they will get a spot in the playoffs.
