On November 8 to 9, the Westwood Speech and Debate team attended 3 tournaments: Round Rock HS, Springwoods HS, and the Hockadebate Invitational. Overall, the debate team won 2nd place sweepstakes at Round Rock HS, along with other individual successes.
Seniors Terisha Kolencherry and Linda Yoo qualified for the Tournament of Champions in Public Forum at Hockaday School. The ToC is compromised of the nation’s top debaters whom qualify for the tournament after obtaining two bids at a national tournament. The Tournament of Champions will be held on April 25 to 27. On the state level, multiple students qualified for the Texas Forensics Association State tournament held on March 6 to 8.
Next week, the speech and debate team will compete at Connally HS.
