Westwood Speech and Debate Team Travels to Chicago

On November 22 to 25, the Westwood Speech and Debate team competed at the 2013 Glenbrooks Speech and Debate Tournament held in Illinois. 

With much success, several debaters received bids to the Tournament of Champions at the Glenbrooks Tournament, as well as many other tournaments. Two bids from national tournaments qualifies a team to participate in the ToC.

UT representative Patrick Patterson describes the importance of teaching kids to be academically honest from an early age. He was one of three UT representatives speaking at the academic integrity seminar on Thursday, March 22. What you have to do as a community is get together with the administration, Patterson said. Create your own honor code. Involve as many folks and kids and adults, as many as possible. Create that honor code and stick to it.
