To relieve stress caused by upcoming AP and IB exams, student council let students play with dogs brought by Therapy Pet Pals of Texas on Thursday, May 2. In total, there were five dogs, of different breeds and sizes, but they were all eager to give and receive love from the students of Westwood.

“Our dogs are volunteers, and we go to different functions, like at senior homes, and hospitals,” volunteer Deborah Nicholson said. “They just give love. Animals are very healing to people, and even the dogs love all the affection. It warms my heart too to see how great everybody feels with our little four-legged critters.”

Available on the patio during both lunches, these animals helped diffuse the tense atmosphere created by  exams, and provided a positive experience to the student body.
