The leaves have changed color and the smell of pumpkin spice has filled the air. It’s official: the fall season is here! During the other seasons the activity list is basically set in stone. For example, during winter break drinking hot chocolate and watching your favorite holiday movies is a must. Over summer break, going to Deep Eddy with your friends is at the top of the bucket list.
Pumpkin Carving
I absolutely love carving pumpkins. There is just something about it that is so soothing. Once you really get into the groove of things, it goes by so fast. Plus, what you carve on a pumpkin can be very telling about someone’s personality. Pumpkin carving is so much fun because you can carve anything like cats, vampires, or Oogie Boogie like I did last year! The design can be simple or complex; it is truly up to you to decide.
Fall Drinks
There’s nothing better than cozying up with a pumpkin spice chai latte. The warmth that fills the air with a rich autumnal smell and the pumpkin spice cold foam on top makes the perfect drink! If you’re not feeling the chai tea latte, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is the perfect coffee drink. The light fluffy cream adds just the right amount of sweetness to the stark, bitter taste of the coffee. If pumpkin isn’t your thing, most coffee shops offer other fall alternatives. For example Dunkin’ has a Candy Bar Signature Latte, and an Almond Spice Latte.
Vintage Ghost Painting
This is such a fun idea to do if you’re into art.Grab a friend, go to the thrift and buy an old painting, then paint little ghosts on top of the photo. . The goal is to try to keep the original painting there while also adding your own flare to it. If you need inspiration, go to Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest.. Ultimately make sure to have fun with it. This trend makes creative block nearly impossible, so don’t stress!
Fall Baking
One of my favorite things to do is to bake, especially in the fall. The pumpkin, cinnamon, and apple flavors just make life so much easier to romanticize. As a baker I pride myself on being able to match the season with any baked good. If you don’t like pumpkin don’t worry; apple cinnamon scones will surely become your best friend. If you need more inspiration check the Horizon!
Boo Baskets
Want to get something festive for your friend? Boo baskets are cozy and practical for this fall season. A cozy fall blanket is the perfect thing to start off with, and then you can add a candle. Next, add a mug with a pair of warm fuzzy socks. Don’t forget to add a cute ghost pillow! Of course, what’s fall without candy? Make sure to finish off by adding your friend’s favorite candy.
Fall Movie Marathons
Getting cozy and sitting next to the fire ready to watch a movie really calms the nerves and puts anyone into the fall mood. If you’re feeling a love triangle with a twist of vampires vs werewolves, then Twilight is the perfect movie for you. If not, Harry Potter is a classic movie that has a mix of magic and love. Another show that is perfect for autumn is Gilmore Girls. The multifaceted relationship between a single mother and a daughter that’s trying to adjust to her life makes for a perfect binge watch during the fall season!
Fall Music
To help get into the fall mood, having that perfect playlist is very important. Whether it’s “we fell in love in october” by Girl in Red or “Dark Red” by Steve Lacy, the vibes always hit just the right amount. Whether you want to feel like Bella Swan or Rory Gilmore having those perfect songs that radiate “cozy fall girl” always help keep the autumnal vibes up. Another perfect way to keep the vibes up is by playing a spooky chill mix on YouTube. The fall art and the chill instrumentals help you stay focused while also keeping it fun! Another great way to get the fall vibes up is by creating fall playlists with cute fall-themed names.
Fall Books
Nothing’s better than cozying up on a soft creamy blanket and reading a nice book while it’s raining outside. If you’re feeling a good fall romance The HoneyCrips Orchard Inn is a perfect book. It’s about a planner who lives in a small town and is helping her family run a Harvest festival, but has to deal with the orchard owner’s son who is her roommate. Another great fall romance book is “Falling like leaves.” This book is about a girl moving to a small town in Connecticut because of her parents’ separation. She reconnects with her old best friend/old lover that’s distant with her but she keeps on bumping into him. Lastly, if you’re not feeling romantic, Coraline is the perfect scary book. Coraline the girl, finds a door of secrets and discovers a whole new world. 3 fantastic books to read this fall season!
Fall Candles
Lastly, what’s fall without fall candles? My personal favorite fall scent is Yankee candles “Autumn Wreath.” Its fresh smell of apples, and will make you want to jump in a big pile of leaves. If you love pumpkins then the “Yankees Spiced Pumpkin” is the perfect candle for you. Lastly, to get in the fall mood the “Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla” from Bath and Body works is the best. It has slight hints of cinnamon aroma and isn’t a harsh smell of flavors!
