Winners of the 2018 national creative writing competition of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) were announced, including Sandra Cong ‘20 who placed first in the level three category.  She will be receiving a scholarship and have her entry published in 2018 Spring issue of L’Élan, the national Bulletin de la Société Honoraire de Français of AATF. Students Sophia Li ‘20 and Alena Zhang ‘20’s pieces will also be published in the bulletin.

“The French competition was a writing competition online,” Sandra Cong ‘20 said. “We had to create a piece, it could be a poem, a story, or an essay having to do with the theme or prompt which they gave. This year’s theme was ‘You’ll never believe me when I tell you…’ so for this I wrote a poem and it was along the lines of ‘You’ll never believe me when I tell you’re beautiful.’”
