Choir Holds Coffeehouse As Final Concert

The choir program, led by Head Director Andre Clark hosted a “Coffeehouse” for students on Friday, May 10 during both lunches. The students had the opportunity to sing for their friends and also got to watch the other performers. The idea of the event was to create a low stress and carefree environment for the performers where they could have fun and express themselves through their music.
“For all of the kids who have the most stressful finals and testing schedules ever, what better way to blow off some steam than to go sing for each other and just have fun?” Mr. Clark said. “Having teachers come and be a part of that and watch is a great way to share what we do and be human beings with music.”
The event was a way to end the year and, especially for the seniors, was a way to have one last concert before leaving. They got to choose what song they wanted to sing and didn’t have to worry about the stress of a normal concert.
“[I wanted to sing at Coffeehouse] because it was one of the last times we got to sing this year and choir has been such a huge part of my formative experience in high school,” Pooja Enagala ‘19 said. “I just wanted one last experience of being able to share a pop song with everybody in choir that I love.”
