The varsity volleyball team played the Round Rock Dragons and ended with yet another 3-0 win on Friday, Oct. 21 as playoffs approach. The Warriors continue to gain strength as a team and work together to successfully defeat their opponents one by one.

“We sped up our offense which is pivotal in doing well in playoffs,” Paige Etherington ’17 said.  “I think we played really well as a team, and doing well against Round Rock gave us a lot of momentum to do well in playoffs.”

Starting off the first set was middle blocker Ashlyn Hill ‘17, who led them to win 25-13 with powerful hits to each incoming ball. Continuing with their momentum and consistency, the Warriors won the second set, ending 25-13. The last set was a grueling one because Round Rock had previously been an undefeated team after the second set.

“It was crazy beating them in the third set because they were always undefeated after the second set, so it felt good to pull out the win,” Hill said.

The continuous support for the undefeated Westwood team leaves the team feeling even more powerful and encouraged.

“I’m excited for our last game before playoffs, I am so proud of my team, and we love all the support we get,” Hill said.

Come support the varsity volleyball team on Tuesday, Oct. 25 as they take on the Hendrickson Hawks for the final game before playoffs.
