Abandoning all fear and letting instinct kick in, Benjamin Chang ‘26 implemented the skills he mastered to save a 74-year-old man’s life in a high-stakes situation. Unaware he would emerge a hero that day, Chang had been volunteering with the EMS when he received a call from a concerned son, terrified that his father’s heart had stopped beating. 
Let Flo Go is composed of Ky Court and her older sister Bo. An indie rock band with personal, playful lyrics and heavenly sister harmonies, Let Flo Gos message is one of support and love. “Music is such an intimate thing. Right? Being able to share that with somebody is so powerful,” Court said. “We wrote this song [called] It’s All Right. And the lyrics are like ‘Im better off alone, I have my own hand to hold. Something that I always think while Im up on stage is I have Bo’s hand to hold. I dont ever need to be the only person supporting myself because I have my sister beside me.”

A rapidly growing and heavily overlooked issue, cultural appropriation has been rooted in the fashion industry for many decades. A degradation of all that fashion stands for and it’s self-expression centered nature, cultural appropriation commercializes traditionally significant wear. However, as the search for true inclusivity continues, it’s important that the industry recognizes the true purpose of fashion and champions the minorities that want to step up and craft pieces that reflect the true essence of their culture.
