The JV softball team took on the Stony Point Tigers on Thursday, April 17 in hopes of winning. Spirits were high as the game started, the Warriors maintaining a striking distance of the lead through the first couple innings.
But, as the Tigers entered the top of the third, they constructed a string of hits that amounted to one too many runs. Although there were a few outstanding defensive stops in and out of the outfield by Alexa Hinojosa ‘27 and Presley Leal ‘28, the team could not gain much ground on the offensive. The Tigers’ pitcher closed down the Warriors’ bats as the game went on, not giving them many chances to score.
In the end, the Warriors lost 10-4. Despite the unfavorable scoreboard, the team left the field with heads high, unfortunately ending their season but ready to return stronger for the next.
