Endless Love, starring Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde, is set to release on Friday, February 14. The movie is a remake of the 1981 film starring Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt. Although the remake features the same characters, the plot line and rating have drastically changed. A movie that was previously rated R for sexual content has been toned down to PG-13.
Endless Love is being considered this year’s most greatly-anticipated Valentines Day movie. While many people would dismiss this film for being a chick-flick, I believe it lived up to being more than that. The comedic aspect of the movie was what sold it for me. I found myself becoming extremely attached to Miles, a supporting character, but by far the funniest. Anyone could see this movie and have a good laugh. The romantic parts of the movie were extremely cliché– almost cringeworthy–but necessary as in any romantic drama. The action maintained a nice pace throughout the movie without too many slow moments. There were definitely some high points, including the climax.
Overall, the movie had a similar plot to many other romance films. One might say that it was predictable, but there were still some minor plot twists. The appeal of the Endless Love came more from its humor and action rather than the romantic aspect. I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars and definitely recommend going to see it.
