Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Look no further than the Pecan Street Festival on Sixth Street, here for the weekend of Sep 27 and 28.
Attracting up to 200,000 people each weekend it runs, the Pecan Street Festival is full of street vendors selling anything from blown glass and metal sculptures to smoothies and ice cream. There are will also be over 60 Austin musicians at three different venues near the festival. The festival helps raise money for the Old Pecan Street Association, a nonprofit that helps other area nonprofits collect funding. The festival collects about $43 million dollars even though it is free to the public, and has been running for over 30 years on Austin’s Sixth Street, formerly named Old Pecan Street.
