On Friday, Jan. 22, the freshman girls basketball played Cedar Ridge. The team fought hard against the Raiders, but ultimately lost 43-67.
“Defense kept us in this game with many steals and deflections,” Taylor DeWitt ‘19 said. “We pushed this undefeated team and they unfortunately rose to the occasion.”
Jenny Todd was one of the top scorers and top rebounders, and Marisa Rech played one of her best games by scoring eight points for the team — with six of those points on three pointers — and having a lot of the team’s steals. Izzy Barber ‘19, Christie French ‘19, and Tanvi Jankay ‘19 also scored the team points.
Though the freshman girls basketball team lost, they played their best and throughout the game kept their good sportsmanship. The girls play at Westwood High School against the Hendrickson freshman girls basketball team on Jan. 26, at 5:30 p.m.
