Boys JV Orange Soccer Emerges Victorious Over Pflugerville
On Friday, March 4, boys JV Orange Soccer team (4-3-3) went up against the Pflugerville soccer team (3-6-3) and won 4-0. They scored two goals in the first half and two goals in the second, keeping Pflugerville behind the whole game.
“I thought the game went pretty well, and we played dominant over them,” Felipe Centeno ‘19 said. “It went a lot better than last time and we really have been playing well, and I hope to end the season as district champs.”
In the first half, the first goal was scored by #19, Arturo Leal ‘16, at 25:42, or in the 9th minute of the game. The second goal was scored by #7, Felipe Centeno ‘19, in the 19th minute. He scored by getting a sideline throw in and scoring. There were a couple other good plays, with #9, Caden Popps ‘18, leading many of the offensive plays, while goalie Anthony Brocato ‘18 made a few saves. Westwood ended the second half with a score of 2-0.
“The game was tough but in the end we came out victorious,” Nathan Howard ‘18 said. “At the beginning we had a harder time keeping possession, but towards the end of the game we were able to come out and win.”
In the second half, the third goal was scored by #10, Nico Goff ‘18 in the 4th minute of the second half. The fourth goal was scored by Popps in the 10th minute. He scored on a breakaway after stealing from a Pflugerville defender.. The game ended with Westwood winning 4-0.
“The game was awesome, and I was so happy that we won,” Avi Kacker ‘19 said.
The Warriors are hoping to end the season as district champs, so if you want to come out and support them, the next game is on Tuesday, March 8, at Round Rock High School.
