Swim Team Holds Annual Retreat
The swim team held their annual retreat at Newk’s Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Though the activities there weren’t swimming related, they were still vital to the team as a whole.
The retreat featured various team building exercises that required communication and teamwork so that the team could bond.
“All of us are going to be together for the next one to four years,” Abbey Truong ‘19 said. “We do a lot of stuff together as a team and it’s really important that everyone gets along and really trusts each other.”
Most of the activities built trust and cooperation, but the most memorable was probably the high ropes course, which is something they do every year at this retreat.
“I liked high ropes course and watching freshmen do it for the first time,” Angela Wang ‘17 said. “They looked terrified.”
The swim team’s next swim meet will be on Thursday, Sept. 15 during school at the Micki Krebsbach Pool in Round Rock.
