German Club Encourages Students to Participate in #WeRemember Campaign
This year, Westwood’s German Club is participating in the global campaign #WeRemember to fight against hatred, racism, xenophobia, and genocide.
The World Jewish Congress (WJC) launched this campaign in 2017 in order to commemorate the six million Jewish people who lost their lives, as well as encourage people around the world to do a simple, yet meaningful task that would resonate greatly. The WJC, as well as Westwood German Club, encourages students to participate in the campaign by simply posting a photo of ourselves holding a #WeRemember sign on various social media platforms such as Twitter or Instagram. This year, they hope to double last year’s 250 million participants to reach 500 million.
The campaign will last until the Holocaust Remembrance Day on Jan. 27 and will culminate with a live projection of the photos as well as interviews and messages from influencers on the grounds of Auschwitz and Birkenau.
