The JV White Boys’ soccer team faced off against the Stony Point Tigers on Feb. 9 at 4:30 p.m. at the Warrior Bowl.

During the first half of the game, there were many shots taken on both goals. Garner Thomas ‘21 ran from the Warriors goal to the Tigers goal to get the ball close. Sai Kasam ‘21 blocked a goal from the Tigers player and shortly after, got injured. Following these plays, Ben Le ‘21 took a corner kick and Max Wiele ‘21 attempted to head the ball into the Tigers net. A Tiger player came in to shoot and Jonas Perez ‘20 slid in to block the ball from going in. Lucio Jimenez ‘20, Ollie Collet ‘20, and Eduardo Sanchez ‘20 all attempted to score a goal for the Warriors.

Throughout the second half, there were many shots on-goal and the team was more intense. Sergio Saldana ‘20 was called offsides with less than eight minutes to go in the half. Even though the players had many chances to score, the final score of the game was 0-0.

I am proud of the way the boys fought today and we obviously want to win every game but you know, we’ll take a tie tonight and hopefully we will learn from it and continue to get better,” Coach Thailing said.
