On Friday, Feb. 22, the JV white boys’ soccer team took on the Round Rock Dragons for a home game at the Warrior Bowl, but were unable to defeat the Dragons 3-0.

The first half began rather slow, but the game began to pick up its momentum when the Warrior defense started working much harder. The majority of the first half was kept up on the side of the opposition, while the Warriors’ defense fought for the game. After a couple close calls, the first half concluded with an uneventful score of 0-0.

“We worked really hard but I guess it’s the lack of intensity at some points,” Joseph Park ‘22 said.

As the game picked back up for its second half, the Warriors started to move more to their side of the field, which made the Dragons fight back with the same intensity. Park demonstrated good footwork with the ball and gave the Warriors a seemingly good kick, but the Dragons’ defense stayed on their backs throughout the entire game. Westwood goalie Shoumik Roychowdhury ‘22 kept up good energy with his strong and quick saves, but as the Dragons began racking up their points, time was quickly running out which resulted in the Warriors loss and the Dragons’ win 3-0.

The JV white boys’ soccer team will play their next game at the Warrior Bowl on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
