Debaters Compete at TFA State
After months of preparation, competitions, and frantic research, speech and debate students finally competed at the Texas Forensic Association (TFA) State Tournament. Held at Alief Taylor High School in Houston, the tournament lasted from Thursday, March 14 to Saturday, March 16 with 50 Westwood qualifiers attending.
“For a lot of people it is the most important tournament of the year, and it’s one of the tournaments where a large portion of the entire team can get together and really show off how much they’ve improved throughout the year, plus the food quality is pretty great,” Linette Page ‘19 said.
The tournament concluded Saturday night with the awards ceremony held in the Alief auditorium. Below is a list of all the State placements.
