Freshman Volleyball Falls to Round Rock 2-0

The freshman volleyball team went up against the Round Rock Dragons on Tuesday Oct. 29. Although the game was an intense affair, the Dragons ended up winning the match 2-0. 

“We knew that going into the game it was going to be a tough match,” Kylie Wardlow ‘23 said. 

In the first set, the Warriors started off slow. The Dragons were beating them by a score of 8-2. Towards the middle of the set, the Lady Warriors started to pick up their pace. With impressive passes by Kimberly Kim ‘23 and Katie Liu ‘23, the team was able to score points. The final score for the first set was 25-12. 

“I think we started off kind of slow because we were nervous,” Olivia Cook ‘23 said. “But you could tell that towards the end of the first set we were doing a lot better.” 

In the second set, the Lady Warriors and the Dragons were neck and neck throughout the entire match. With strong spikes from Macie Gordon ‘23, the Lady Warriors were able to maintain their powerful momentum. Towards the middle of the set, the score was tied 10-10. Although the Warriors fought hard, the Dragons ended up winning the second set, and the game, 25-19. 

This was the last game for the freshman team this season.
