Five Last Minute Gifts You Could Give to Your Friends and Family

With Christmas right around the corner, most people have already bought presents for their loved ones. At least they should have. Some people are busy with work, others are forgetful, and some of us are merely lazy. If you’re one of these people, don’t worry, because we’ve come up with some presents you can make yourself just in time for your friends and family.

Stationery Kit

With a little scavenging around the house, you should be able to find what you need. Take a Ziploc bag and fill it with a few unsharpened pencils, a working pen, an unbroken eraser, and a sharpener. If that’s not enough, throw in a few color pencils and markers. Don’t forget to decorate the Ziploc bag so your gift doesn’t look too plain (unless that’s the way you want it). You could also buy a nicer pouch from the store or use another small bag-like object if a Ziploc bag looks unpresentable to you.

Jar

Do you have any empty jars lying around? Instead of throwing them away, you could turn them into a useful and decorative masterpiece to store pens, buttons, or even food. Take a jar and decorate it with paint, sharpies, pom-poms, etc. For decoration ideas, you could paint a picture, make abstract art, or do whatever comes to mind.

Tye-Dye Shirt

This one takes a little more time, but can successfully happen if you start the night before. You need a tye-dye kit and a t-shirt that is preferably white. Take the colors you desire from the kit, and mix them with water. Then tie the shirt in one of the different patterns shown in the instruction sheet that comes with the kit, and color the shirt in any way you want. Once you’re done designing the shirt, leave it overnight to dry. If the shirt is still wet the next day, put it in the dryer to speed up the drying process. Using the dryer will make the colors look faded, but if your friend or family member asks, you can tell them it’s pastel.

Food Package

Everyone loves food, so this can’t go wrong. There are a variety of ways you could approach this. You could make a collection of a variety of food items, or a huge bundle of one food item. Take a small plastic cover and fill it with food. Once the bag is full, tie a ribbon around the top to seal it.

Holiday Card

If you possess a reasonable amount of artistic skill, this present is a quick fix. On a sturdy piece of paper, write a message, and draw a picture. Although a simple gift, what matters is that it came from the heart.
