Senior Cap and Gown Pickup Day Approaches

On Monday, May 3, from 12:30-4:00 p.m., seniors will have the opportunity to pick up their cap and gown, awards, graduation cords, and medals at the front of the school. A DJ will be present to play music, and there will be a safe area for students to take pictures and sign the college banner, which has been a tradition every year. Teachers will also be present to congratulate students for their academic journeys. Many students are looking forward to this event in preparation for graduation.

”I’m so excited to have a somewhat normal high school graduation,” Lily Sayre ‘21 said. “Although many of our other traditions have been canceled because of COVID-19, graduating will provide a sense of closure and make this year feel like an achievement rather than an ending.”

Graduation marks an important milestone of transitioning to adulthood, so students are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.

“Though each of us may follow different paths, our academic and social experiences at Westwood and the friendships we built will serve as a common foundation to success in the next chapter of our lives,” Aylin Tanriverdi ‘21 said.

Seniors attending this event can print out this sign, write their name on it, and place it on their car dashboard when they arrive.
