Seniors Prepare for Annual Senior Walk
Seniors will be able to participate in the annual senior walk to feeder elementary and middle schools which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. Although the on-campus attendance rates are lower than in previous years, many students and teachers are still showing optimism for the event.
“I’m excited for the senior walk this year,” Andie Wolff ‘21 said. “I know it won’t be the same as it usually is with all of the COVID-19 restrictions, but it’s nice knowing that we will be able to go back to our elementary and middle schools and see our old teachers and how much the schools have changed.”
Canyon Vista Middle School and its feeder schools will be hosting the event on Tuesday, May 25. Canyon Vista will be hosting it at 10 A.M., while Caraway Elementary School, Laurel Mountain Elementary School, and Spicewood Elementary School will be hosting it at 8 A.M. Grisham Middle School and its feeder schools will be hosting the event on Wednesday, May 26, with the exception of Canyon Creek Elementary School, which will be hosting the event on Tuesday, May 25. Grisham will be hosting the event at 10 A.M., Canyon Creek Elementary School will be hosting at 8 A.M., and Purple Sage Elementary School and Anderson Mill Elementary School will be hosting at 9 A.M. Students who didn’t attend a Westwood High School feeder school are welcome to participate at any of the middle and elementary school campuses.
In addition to the annual senior walk, Westwood will also be hosting a virtual senior awards ceremony on Friday, May 21, a project graduation parade on Friday, May 28, and senior graduation at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
