Week 4 NFL Picks
Last Week: 68.75% Accuracy
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Pick: Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals are by far the superior team in this matchup. Joe Burrow has had two extremely strong games behind him and Trevor Lawrence has been struggling as a rookie. This win should propel the Bengals to a strong 3-1 record and leave the Jaguars as a completely irrelevant team by the end of the night.
Tennessee Titans vs. New York Jets
Pick: Tennessee Titans
This game should not be close at all. The New York Jets have flaws at almost every position and have done a terrible job of developing Zach Wilson as a good passer. Derrick Henry should have no problem against the Jets’ weak defense and Ryan Tannehilil, A.J. Brown, and Julio Jones will connect in big ways.
Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears
Pick: Detroit Lions
This game looks like a lock to be one of the most boring games of week four, both of these offenses are very low scoring and feature unexciting quarterbacks. The Lions seem to have played the closer games, so this game should give the Lions their first win.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins
Pick: Indianapolis Colts
The Miami Dolphins are an extremely hot and cold team and are without their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. Additionally, Carson Wentz has a full week to get healthy and the Colts are not an 0-4 type of team.
Cleveland Browns vs. Minnesota Vikings
Pick: Cleveland Browns
The Browns have an extremely strong team both offensively and defensively. On the other side, the Vikings will not be able to keep pace with the Browns’ offense and even if they could, I have no faith that Kirk Cousins would be able to close out a close game against any opponent.
Washington Football Team vs. Atlanta Falcons
Pick: Washington Football Team
Even following a 1-2 record, the Washington Football Team is a much stronger team than people are willing to give them credit for. Taylor Heinicke has been serviceable on offense and Antonio Gibson has had a modest but effective start to his season. Washington should have no trouble beating up on a weak Falcons team.
Houston Texans vs. Buffalo Bills
Pick: Buffalo Bills
The Bills are a white hot team that have been consistently beating up on bad teams. The Texans are likely going to fall in glorious fashion to the Bills, I am expecting this to be a 30 point score difference with Josh Allen throwing at least three touchdowns.
New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints
Pick: New Orleans Saints
Even with the Saints being such a hot and cold team they should have no trouble destroying the Giants on Sunday. The Giants’ offense has not been able to get moving, even against a pitiful defense like the Falcons.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Don’t let the Chiefs’ record fool you, they can still wreck bad teams and are still well on their way to cruise into the playoffs once the Broncos start facing some real opponents. Nobody should even encourage the thought of Philadelphia winning this game. They are an extremely flawed team on offense and defense.
Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Pick: Dallas Cowboys
If Carolina manages to stay undefeated after this game then I will start trusting the Panthers. Dak Prescott is having the best year of his career up to this point and this Carolina defense will really struggle against Dak, Coop, and CeeDee Lamb, who is having a great breakout year. One player to watch is Cedrick Wilson who has had multiple amazing receptions over the past three weeks.
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers
Pick: Seattle Seahawks
This matchup should be close, but in the end the Seahawks are the more likely team to bounce back following two back to back disappointing losses. The Seahawks are another team much stronger than people will be inclined to give them credit despite their 1-2 record. Russell Wilson is connecting very well with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in the passing game, and the defense is adequate.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams
Pick: Los Angeles Rams
This game should be extremely competitive as both of these teams are playing at an extremely high level and both have quarterbacks who are frontrunners in the MVP conversation. I expect the Rams to have the edge because in the end their offenses are very similar in strength, but the Rams have the clear defensive edge. This game may not have the same outcome when these two teams play again, but I am confident that the Rams will pull out the first win.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Green Bay Packers
Pick: Green Bay Packers
The Steelers are on a steady decline and the Packers are quickly rising. Aaron Rodgers has been thoroughly outplaying Ben Roethlisberger for the entire season, and this strong offense should make up for a lackluster defense.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos
Pick: Denver Broncos
The Broncos are high flying at 3-0 and while their opponents have been relatively easy, they still feel like a very strong team. Teddy Bridgewater does not have a single turnover so far and the Ravens have not been able to pull a decisive win in three weeks.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New England Patriots
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This “exciting” rematch between Tom Brady and his former team is going to be a massacre of New England by Tampa Bay. Mac Jones has shown that he has struggles when he is more than a game manager, and he will need to be more than a game manager against this extremely strong defensive line.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Pick: Las Vegas Raiders
I don’t feel confident in picking the Raiders, but what I am confident of is that this will be a game bursting with offensive firepower. Both of these quarterbacks have been electric over the span of three weeks, and both defenses have given up significant points.
