Week 6 NFL Picks
Last Week: 75.00% Accuracy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Eagles are playing far better than their record suggests on offense, but on defense they look like an 0-5 operation. Even with Jalen Hurts’s constant improvements in the passing game, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers’ offense will have no problems using the Eagles defense as a doormat on their way to the end zone.
Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars can only go without a win for so long, and the Dolphins are not playing good football at the moment. This should be Jacksonville’s first shot at a win, and Miami’s defense should be helpful in paving the way for a good game for rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Carolina Panthers
Pick: Carolina Panthers
The main thing that people were eager to hang their hat on regarding the Vikings’ was their ability to rack up points, even if the defense was giving up massive amounts of points that ultimately caused them to lose games. In the end, neither of these teams seems like a likely pick to cruise into the playoffs, but the Panthers are still the better built team.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Baltimore Ravens
Pick: Los Angeles Chargers
Leave it to the Ravens to look like an injury ravaged, lackluster version of their former glory for much of their tenure and then have massive fourth quarter comebacks to move themselves to 4-1. That said, the Chargers are the strongest team in the NFL. I see no reason for the Chargers to lose this game.
Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants
Pick: Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are a considerably stronger team than the Giants, even with Daniel Jones in the starting lineup. Now with Mike Glennon, the Giants do not stand a chance against one of the most built teams in the NFL.
Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts
Pick: Indianapolis Colts
A stroke of good luck by the Texans might turn the tide of this game. However, the Colts have played considerably better football both against the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins. Additionally, Carson Wentz is looking like a far stronger quarterback especially over these past two games than Davis Mills.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Washington Football Team
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense was made to look like a joke by the ultimate power of the Buffalo Bills defense along with some white hot lasers thrown by Josh Allen. That said, Kansas City’s offense has the ceiling to be a very strong team, and Washington has the ceiling to be a mid level team on offense and defense. Kansas City should have no problem winning this matchup.
Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears
Pick: Green Bay Packers
Don’t be fooled by the recent success of the Chicago Bears, they are still an extremely flawed team and facing a nearly undefeated Green Bay Packers team is surely going to cause them to come back down to Earth.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Detroit Lions
Pick: Cincinnati Bengals
Had it not been for two completely botched field goals by rookie kicker Evan McPherson, the Bengals would have pulled out with a win against the Green Bay Packers. The Bengals are an extremely strong offensive team with a young quarterback on the rise, and the defense features a strong centerpiece in linebacker Logan Wilson. This matchup should be no problem for the Bengals.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Cleveland Browns
Pick: Cleveland Browns
This will be a battle of two extremely strong teams, but in the end the Cardinals’ failings on defensive depth and offensive consistency have nearly cost the birds some wins. Better built teams beat powerhouse offenses eight times out of ten.
Dallas Cowboys vs. New England Patriots
Pick: Dallas Cowboys
Dallas might have the best offense in the league, and now with Damien Harris questionable with the injury the Patriots are dwindling on offense. Mac Jones is inconsistent at best, and the defense has given up a big game to the Saints, and even gave up a win to the Miami Dolphins.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos
Pick: Las Vegas Raiders
As bad of a place as the Raiders are in, they still have more than enough offensive and defensive firepower to beat down the steadily declining Denver Broncos. The Broncos are easy fodder for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers
This game is possibly the simplest game to pick of Week six. The Seahawks are starting Geno Smith as their quarterback, meaning that as long as this quarterback is starting NFL games, then the Seahawks’ poorly built roster will inevitably fail and the Seahawks will lose their place in the NFC West.
Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans
Pick: Buffalo Bills
The Titans have been very lucky to win the limited amount of games that they’ve won. The Bills are running a powerful operation, and the Titans are lucky to stay afloat in a struggling AFC South.
