Focused, Genetic Engineering Club officers Jennifer Dai '24 and Brian Zhang '24 examine strawberry DNA that was extracted as part of the lab. To extract the DNA, club members stirred cold rubbing alcohol into a solution of smashed strawberries and DNA extraction fluid. "For me, the best part about the lab was mashing the strawberries together. There's just something special about absolutely decimating strawberries," Zhang said.
