Four new Apple products were released on Sept. 12: the iPhone 8 and 8+, the Apple Watch 3, the 4K Apple TV, and the new iPhone X. The release was held at the newly-built company auditorium, Apple Park, which seats over 10,000 people.

Prices are hefty for the iPhone X with the lowest at $999 (with the least storage space), about same price as the cheapest MacBook Air. Newly introduced features of the iPhone X include an all glass screen 5.8 inch display, and OLED screen, new infrared-powered face recognition software instead of Touch ID, wireless charging, improved cameras in the front and back, and no home button.

The new face recognition can also be used for making payments and logging into bank accounts. Apple’s head of software, Craig Federighi, demonstrated the new software, but while Federighi was trying to unlock the phone, the software didn’t seem to work. After switching to the backup phone, the facial recognition software began to work perfectly, insinuating that the software may be still have a few issues.

Similar to the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and 8+ will have a 5.8 inch edge to edge glass screen, as well as an upgraded camera and wireless charging. However, the iPhone 8 and 8+ will still have a home button and Touch ID. Both phones will also introduces Apple’s new True Tone feature, which adjusts the screens color temperature based on the current lighting. Prices will begin at $699 and $799 for the 8+ and work its way up as the storage gets larger. The new iPhones also include improved stereo speakers,12-megapixel dual cameras, and will be sold in three colors: gold, silver, and space grey.

The iPhone 8 and 8+ is available for preorder on Sept. 15 and will release on Sept. 22. The iPhone X can be preordered starting on Oct. 27 and is set to release on Nov. 3.
