On April 28 and 29, junior Colin Markes of the tennis team will be in the State Championship at the UT Penick-AlIison Tennis Center. During the 5A Boys Singles Regional Championship last week in Waco, Markes beat sophomore Jackson Cobb of Bowie High in a 6-2, 6-3 match. Markes will be playing back to back State Championships for Westwood in Boys Singles. Last year, alumni Miguel Alda won the title for Boys Singles in the State Championships.
