Starting September 10, the Reflections program will be accepting submissions of literature, artwork, films, music composition, and dance choreography until October 21. The theme this year is “The world would be a better place if…”.
The Reflections program is a nationwide program for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade to submit literature, artwork, films, music composition, and dance choreography. Reflections was founded 40 years ago to encourage students to create and enjoy art. Reflections is sponsored by various Parent-Teachers Associations (PTAs) across the country.
Students that submit an entry will receive a certificate, a t-shirt, and a candy bar from the PTA. Those that advance to district, state, or nationals will be given bigger prizes.
“It is a great way for creative, artistic kids to be recognized,” Westwood PTA Chair of Reflections Liz McDonald said. “It also looks good on college applications.”
Forms can be found online here, as well as in the library and main office stating September 10.
