On Oct. 23, the Westwood Warriors played and lost to the Pflugerville Panthers in a great game at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex.

The game started off quickly, with the Panthers taking the lead of 14-0, then moving to 3-21 by the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the game picked up, with the Warriors at 3 and the Panthers at 28 with 2 minutes left in the game. By the end of the first half, the Warriors made another field goal and the Panthers made another touchdown, making the score 6-35 at the end of the second quarter.

After an amazing performance by the band and the Sundancers, the game picked right back up where it left off, the third quarter containing another field goal for the Westwood Warriors and another ten points for the Pflugerville Panthers, ending the third quarter with 9-45 in the Panthers favour.

To finish off the game, the Warrior offense scored two touchdowns in the last quarter and Westwood’s defense kept the Pflugerville Panthers out at 45, ending the game with a 23-45 score at regulation time. Despite Westwood’s great effort in the 4th quarter, the Panthers kept the Warriors at bay and took the victory.

Westwood will play against Round Rock at Round Rock High School on Oct. 31.

Hi, my name is Simone Heim. I work for the Westwood Horizon online news as the Head News Editor. This is my third year in Student Press, as well as my fourth year in the journalism program. I also participate in the Westwood theater program as an actor and occasionally with tech. Outside of school I work as an assistant coach at a parkour gym teaching fight choreography, and over the summer I’m a counselor at a few summer camps. Some of my pastimes include obsessively listening to musical soundtracks, telling my friends to ‘fight me’, crying over television shows, and drinking hot cocoa.
