On Thursday, Jan. 22, Westwood Student Council hosted their 20th annual Mr. Warrior men’s beauty competition in the school cafetorium.
This competition is one of Student Council’s main fundraising events, raising around $1,000 for the club.
“The Mr. Warrior event not only helps raise money, but it also provides a way for Westwood students to show off their talents in their own quirky ways,” Student Body Vice- President Rushi Patel ‘15 said.
In this event, the upperclassmen competitors take part in two different sections. During the first round, the competitors will take part in a casual wear, talent, and formal wear portions.
“It was fun seeing all of the competitors show off their own unique looks in the casual and formal wear sections,” Patel said. “The talent portion was funny and entertaining, I think that everyone really enjoyed the whole contest.”
In the next section, the four people who advance to the second round will compete in the the last interview section.
“The whole competition was a great experience for everyone, especially the interview section where we were able to hear the funny responses from the contestants,” Patel said
.After the second round of interviews, the results were out. Varun Adiga ’15 placed second and Geoff Sloan ‘15 won first place, becoming Mr. Warrior.
“Overall, the event was a huge success. Along with raising money for Student Council, I think that everyone really enjoyed the competition,” Patel said.
