Westwood’s chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) competed in state competitions in Lubbock on Monday, Feb. 16. Although TAFE is in its first year as an organization at Westwood, members scored well in competition.
Elizabeth McFarland ’16 placed third out of 34 students in the Public Speaking event. McFarland qualified for nationals, which will be held in Washington, D.C. in April. Nakiba Karedia ’16 and McFarland tested in Educational Leadership Fundamentals, and both scored a grade between 90-100, earning a gold certificate.
