As the weekend draws nearer, Women’s Lacrosse gears up for their first travel tournament of the year: Aggieland. Although this will be their third tournament total, Aggieland will be the lax girls’ chance to get to know the team and get a better understanding of the game. Aggieland will take place on Feb. 7 and 8 and will be hosted by Texas A&M Women’s Lacrosse.
Aggieland Classic is held as an annual fundraiser for A&M Women’s Lax where teams from high school and middle school girls’ lacrosse teams on the varsity and junior varsity levels compete. Teams from Houston, San Antonio, and other cities around Texas will be attending this annual season kickoff.
“I’m super excited,” Ivy Grossberg ‘18 said. “I think we are going to do really well.”
Most of the girls on the team are looking forward to playing some harder competition and getting to know each other better.
“The Woodlands are going to be difficult competition,” Francesca Mustain ‘18 said. “But it’ll be really fun for us freshman to get to know the upperclassmen.”
The tournament also kickstarts the season for the lacrosse team, and their first game will be an away game held on Thursday, Feb. 12 against Georgetown.
