collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com_files_2015_06_UTO1The college football season is winding down, and the teams of Texas have had a good season. Here’s a quick recap of five Texas teams and how they’ve been doing in football.

First off, we have the Baylor Bears (9-3). Baylor is currently ranked number 12 nationally and are fourth in the Big 12. They had their last game against the Texas Longhorns on Dec. 5. Overall, Baylor is in the middle of the pack, and even though they lost to Texas, they finished out their season with a good record.

Next are the TCU Horned Frogs (10-2). TCU is currently ranked at 11 and is third in the Big 12. Their two losses came to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. TCU had finished out their season on a high note, with a win against Baylor. TCU is near the front of the pack, with a very good record. They have already won two national titles, and they may have a chance to win one more.

Another famous Texas team is Texas A&M (8-4). A&M is unranked and is fifth in the West division. They lost to Alabama, who is ranked at number two, Auburn, who is unranked, LSU, who is ranked at 23, and Ole Miss, who is ranked at 16. A few years ago, A&M moved out of the Big 12 and into the SEC, or Southeastern Conference. They are near the backend of the pack, but still have a decent record. They ended their season with a loss at LSU, but they have qualified for a bowl game.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (7-5) are unranked, but are sixth in the Big 12. They lost to TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia. Their head coach is Kliff Kingsbury, who is on his fourth year at Tech, and previously was the offensive coordinator for the A&M Aggies. Texas Tech is also near the back of the back, but their record is decent, considering they lost to a lot of the higher ranked teams. They ended their season on a positive note, with a win at Texas.

The Texas Longhorns finished with a record of 5-7. They are also unranked and are seventh in the Big 12. They won against Rice, Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Kansas. The head coach of the Longhorns recently changed. Charlie Strong is the new head coach, and he has been there for two seasons. They pulled off a win against Baylor, so they finished out their season with a win.
