Q: How did you feel going into the game?

A: We felt good going into this game especially after last week’s win against Lehman. We felt like the Lehman win was a total team effort. It was great to see these young men playing football, having fun, and having success. It’s been awhile since our kids had that much fun in a game. It was a blast to see them enjoying the experience. I always believe our kids have a chance no matter the opponent.

Q: How have you prepared the boys for this game; what did you work on to improve from last game?

A: We have a plan we follow each week for all of our opponents and we do not deviate too much from the routine. We review the game film, make note of the errors and mistakes, and make the necessary changes and corrections. We do also highlight great efforts and performances by specific units or individuals.

We then begin to analyze our next opponent and develop a game plan. Just as we expect our players to work together, we as a staff work closely together and collaborate to develop a plan that will allow our players the best opportunity for success.

Q: In your opinion, what do you think the best moment of the night was?

A: It’s really tough for me to pick any single moment of the night as the best moment. There were numerous moments in the game that were critical to our success which is what makes this game so great. Several individual efforts make for the team’s success.

Q: What does this say about the rest of the season?

A: I think it’s still too early to tell exactly how the rest of the season will play out. What I can say is that there is a buzz right now about these young men and their efforts these first two games of the season. I know they are gaining more and more confidence with each win. As coaches, we are excited to continue to work with and develop these young men as we prepare for the next opponent.

Q: And is there anything else you’d like to add?

A: Thank you for supporting these young men. They have worked hard to prepare for this season and it is great to see the family, fan, and student body support. I know these kids love having the families, peers and community members cheering them on as they give it their all for each other out there on the field.
