Though the summer is long gone, let’s all be completely honest; school life doesn’t stop us from watching movies that we tend to turn to during times of exasperation, depression, or, if even possible, boredom. Here are some tempting movies that are the perfect match to satisfy your cravings, and to add to your hours of procrastination:

1. Suicide Squad: This movie, without a doubt, was one of the most anticipated movies of 2016. Earning $43.8 million and still number 1 at the box office, Suicide Squad gains much recognition for it’s unique storyline about super villains saving the world in exchange for leaner sentences. Harley Quinn in particular is symbolic character that practically screams Suicide Squad; from her new makeover to her playful behavior, Quinn has lured many people into watching the film to see her fight in the brawl consisting of men and monsters.
   
2. Finding Dory: I will admit that I still have yet to watch this movie, though I did watch Finding Nemo on my 10×10 inch TV back in 2006. Finding Dory revolves around Dory, an amnesiac blue fish who journeys to reunite with her parents. From what I’ve heard, although the movie was extremely heart wrenching, it doesn’t exactly meet up to the high standards of its successor. However, if you’re looking for a movie that will bring back nostalgic memories from the 2000s, this fish movie might be the movie you.                
3. The Conjuring 2: Does this movie even need a reason? Nominated as one of the scariest movies of 2016, The Conjuring 2 most definitely isn’t meant for the light-hearted. The film follows the Warrens as they travel to England to assist the Hodgson family, who are experiencing poltergeist activity at their home. Ultimately, complications arise as they realize that the problem is rooted more deeply than they expected. Fun fact: if you want to get the living wit scared out of you (as my computer had decided to do for me, how kind), zoom into the right side of the poster and you’ll see a gorgeous figure staring right back at you. Enough to give nightmares for days, weeks even.                 
4. Zootopia: Who doesn’t like G-rated movies full of bright sunshine and talking animals? No one. Zootopia is based on the teamwork between a rabbit police officer and a fox con artist as they uncover a conspiracy that involves the disappearance of civilians within a mammalian metropolis. Not only do the critters have lovable personalities, but some are completely relatable to us in our everyday lives. Zootopia is a great movie to watch if you want to feel like a kid all over again, only without the additional bonus of judgy individuals who are probably rethinking your maturity level.          
   
5. Now You See Me 2: If crazy card tricks and illusive stunts are your type of thing, this movie will give you so much to think about. Literally. Based on the Four Horsemen who make their comeback at a grand event, the illusionists find themselves in trouble as a tech wizard (Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter) forces them to steal the chip that can control the world. Now You See Me, the first of the sequel, was one of the hottest movies back in 2013, and now, with its second movie finally out, more mind-twisting performances grabs the attention of millions of viewers. Though not as highly ranked as it’s successor, Now You See Me 2 continues to thrill the viewers with its ability to capture and present the working minds of magicians.          
   
6. X-Men: Apocalypse: Still one of the few series that I have yet watch, X-Men is a renowned superhero series has nine installments and is a sequel to X-Men: Days of the Future Past. The movie revolves around the central theme of a mutant waking up after thousands of years, banding with other powerful mutants, and attempting to “cleanse” mankind with the idea that “only the strong will survive” (survival of the fittest, ladies and gentlemen). In response to this threat, Raven, with the help of Professor X, must lead the X-Men to stop the nemesis and save mankind from destruction. Based on the amount of money it made ($178 million) and its fairly high rating (7.2 stars out of 10), X-Men: Apocalypse appears to be one of the crowd’s favorites of 2016, so that gives you one reason to watch it. If that, as for me, isn’t sufficient enough to sway you into the theaters, here’s another solid reason: it’s a Marvel movie (woot woot).
   
7. Lights Out: Oh my literal gosh. This movie, aside from Annabelle and The Woman in Black, has to be one of the most terrifying TRAILERS I’ve seen. A creepy lady who appears when you shut off the lights is not something that I want remember when I go to sleep at night, especially when I have nothing but a tiny nightlight to keep me company. Lights Out is a very recent film about supernatural entity that, like almost every other horror movie, returned with a vengeance to torment a family. The creepiest part (I just cannot emphasize enough) has to be the fact that the lady appears in semi-darkness and has glowing eyes. Glowing eyes. The only critter or thing that I’m okay with glowing eyes at night are cats or cars, not humans. I mean, I guess that because she’s not technically human anymore, she can have whatever she wants, but the concept itself still remains a terrifying thought.
