Freshman Orange Girls’ Basketball Overcomes Stony Point
The Freshman Orange girls’ basketball team dominated the Stony Point Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 10 with a final score of 40-13. The Lady Warriors were able to keep their opponents from scoring with solid defensive strategies. Taylor Cason ‘20 led the team in turnovers and defensive rebounds, while also finishing with the most assists. Leah Zahm ‘20 helped her teammates with scoring opportunities as she ended with a team-high seven steals.
“This game, as a team, we’ve improved a lot. We scored a lot of points,” Zahm said. “I think that if we learn our plays better and start running things more then we’ll be able to score more points and get more opportunities to win games.”
The Lady Warriors will play their next home game against Round Rock on Friday, Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m..
