On Friday, Feb. 3, the JV boys’ basketball team conquered the Stony Point Tigers with a score of 57-51.
The team quickly gained a lead in the first quarter and was able to maintain this with consecutive shots. The top scorer overall was Zach Shrull ‘19. With quick and efficient ball movements between the Warriors’ offense, the Warriors led 30-17 at the end of the first half.
“We worked really good as a team and our chemistry was nice,” Ethan Brown ‘19 said. “But we need to work on finishing the game and not getting ahead of ourselves.”
Throughout the second half, Stony Point was more aggressive on defense which made it difficult for the Warrior to drive to the net. However, the Tigers also fouled the Warriors multiple times which allowed for free throws. The top scorers from the free throw lines were Jacob Hines ‘18 and Mason Flood ‘19.
“I’m really happy that we can add this to our list of wins,” Flood said. “We played well together which allowed us to get the dub.”
The Warriors will play the Round Rock Dragons at Round Rock High School on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m.. Go Wood.
