Six Underrated Video Game Sequels
- “Kingdom Hearts 2” – This is a follow-up to an RPG (role-playing game) about a boy named Sora who travels around Disney worlds fighting creatures. In the sequel, originally released on PS2, Sora has to start all over, because between the games he lost all of his memories and his abilities.
- “Assassins Creed Syndicate” – This is a historical game based in Victorian era England that follows twin Assassins Evie and Jacob Frye. The twins travel around England killing gang leaders and liberating child labor factories. The two have very different goals that you watch unfold, as each mission requires a specific twin based on the type of mission.
- “Fable 2” – The second installment in a franchise, that within each game tells the story of a new hero with the help of a fortuneteller named Theresa, this game follows a hero named Sparrow whose gender, for the first time in the series, can be chosen by the player. The game starts when Sparrow is young, in roughly medieval times, living in poverty with their older sister. The older sister is then shot by a mad nobleman who later ends up being the main protagonist. Sparrow, now a teen, mostly travels the world of Albion trying to take down the nobleman.
- “Batman Arkham City” – A follow up to “Batman Arkham Asylum”, where Batman was trapped in Arkham Asylum (filled with the worst villains he’d ever faced), and he had to find the Joker who broke out of his cell. In this sequel, he is on a bigger scale of having to find the Joker, who is on the loose in Arkham City. For the first time in the series, you can play as another character: Catwoman.
- “Avatar the Last Airbender: Into the Inferno” – This is a video game adaptation of the final season of the cartoon series “Avatar the Last Airbender”. It’s about a boy named Aang who was frozen in an iceberg for 100 years. Now that he is awake, he is the last hope to save the world from the evil Fire Nation. In this game, you follow the same story of the third season where Team Avatar is in hiding as he learns firebending.
- “Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back” – A follow up to “Crash Bandicoot”, where the main character lost his girlfriend and now lives with his sister, this game follows Crash as he travels between portals to stop the villain Cortex, who wants crystals to activate a Cortex Vortex instrument that could end the world.
