Varsity Volleyball Smashes Stony Point 3-0
The varsity volleyball team took down the Stony Point Tigers 3-0 during a home game on Friday, Aug. 31. The girls stayed ahead throughout the game to the point where the Tigers had a tough time ever getting the lead.
Team Captain Maggie Stout ‘19 proved to be a great leader with aggressive hits scoring for her team during the entirety of the game, proving her abilities especially in the final set.
“I think we did a really great job especially coming off last game losing one of our starting outsides, Maddi [Kriz ‘19],” Stout said. “A lot of people stepped it up and made up for lost people. I think we are only going to improve from here.”
In addition to Stout, Abby Gregorczyk’s ‘21 powerful spikes were on display that night, as well as Caroline Suter ‘19 consistently getting the ball over the net too fast for Tigers’ to keep up. Both girls made their team’s victory even more possible. Audrey Quenel ‘20 was also a vital player for her team in the second set blocking the Tigers’ hits.
The team’s next game is Tuesday, Sept. 4 against the McNeil Mavericks.
