GALLERY: Academy Ambassadors Host 8th Grade Day

  • Sakshi Dhavalikar ’21, Mayesha Kabir ’20, and Hugh Trisnadi ’21 wait for the 8th graders to arrive. They had spent weeks preparing for their visit and are ready to present.

  • Mr. Siler’s room was packed full of 8th graders ready to learn about the course options in the Business and Industry Academy.

  • After getting their schedule for the day and signing in, Rakshinee Srikanth ’22 and Diya Rajon ’22 head to their assigned rooms to prepare for the 8th graders to come.

  • Governing Team member Nagaharini Rao ’20 gets all many props ready to engage the 8th graders while the Ambassadors present. She arranges a wide variety, including a preserved shark, a model of a brain, and a pig kidney.

  • Ms. Lucy Sanchez, the Academy Specialist, stands on a stool to take a picture of all the Ambassadors after 8th grade day was over. She congratulates them on their hard work for educating the 8th graders about what it is like to be an Ambassador.

  • Erica Yao ’21, Governing Team member of the STEM academy, smiles after a successful 8th grade day. All the presentations ran smoothly since the 8th graders sat quietly and listened.

  • Sakshi Dhavalikar ’21 hands the clicker over to Mayesha Kabir ’20 to present. Each presentation was divided into 4 parts so each Ambassador in the teams had a chance to speak.

  • Mr. Jeff Siler and Sakshi Dhavalikar ’21 pose with the DECA plaques that were used to show the 8th graders how big our DECA chapter has grown and how well it’s done. Ambassadors encouraged them to join career-related clubs to help them gain more knowledge and soft skills.
