Warrior Pride auditions were held starting Thursday, April 15 and continued over a period of three consecutive days. Prospective members danced together in congruence  to Say Geronimo by Sheppard.

Over the brief time frame, the candidates learned the piece that the directors created for the auditions. Following COVID-19 guidelines, the members wore their masks and maintained social distancing at all times. Virtual auditions were also available for those who weren’t able to participate in-person.

On the last day, the contestants dressed in all black and performed in front of the judges.

On April 16, the new Pride members were announced on the Warrior Pride website. With twelve candidates making the team, they will start as new members for the 2021-2022 school year.

“I’m excited to welcome the new members onto our team. After a year of dancing at home, I feel very proud of everyone who auditioned.” Ms. Gunderson, the assistant director for Warrior Pride said. “It takes a lot of courage, especially this year. I hope that joining Warrior Pride will be a great experience for them, and a fun way to connect with new people after a year where making friends was a little more challenging.”
