NFL Week 8 Picks

Last Week: 69.23% Accuracy

Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals

Pick: Arizona Cardinals

Without Davante Adams on their roster, the Packers will be completely lost on offense and will not have the defensive firepower to stop the 7-0 Cardinals offense. The game could still be close, but in the end Arizona has a much better chance of pulling away without a loss.

Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons

Pick: Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have finally reached .500 after a 0-3 start, and their hot streak has no reason to fail against the Carolina Panthers who look completely lost after their 3-0 start. This should be a big passing game for Matt Ryan and Kyle Pitts, and I would expect a 100 yard game from Cordarrelle Patterson.

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts

Pick: Tennessee Titans

The Titans suddenly look like one of the best teams in the NFL after back to back wins against the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, and a matchup against the mediocre Indianapolis Colts should get the Titans to a 5-2 record easily.

Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

Pick: Buffalo Bills

The last game that Buffalo played might have been a loss, but you might remember that the Bills have shut out two teams including the Dolphins and have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. That said, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will have high expectations against a dominant Bills defense as he attempts to prove himself as an NFL starter.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Jets

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

The Jets’ failures to protect their rookie quarterback have finally come back to bite them in the form of an injury, and the Jets will be forced to start fourth year quarterback Mike White in his place. Needless to say, after a win against Baltimore, the Bengals should have no troubles taking care of this horrible New York team.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns

Pick: Cleveland Browns

Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, and Kareem Hunt were all injured against Cleveland’s latest matchup against the Denver Broncos. Now with their depth proven, the duo of Case Keenum and D’Ernest Johnson will look to take over the Steelers’ depressing offense and underperforming defense. This will be a statement win for the Browns, a team fighting to stay in AFC relevance.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Detroit Lions

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

The Lions could not close out a game to save their lives, and if Jalen Hurts can get this offense off to a fast start, then this matchup should be no problem for Philly. This will still be a matchup to keep an eye on after Detroit kept it close for three quarters against the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Houston Texans

Pick: Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are gifted with the second easy win in two weeks with the Houston Texans who have been dependent on young quarterback Davis Mills. Even with Tyrod Taylor slated to start on Sunday, the Texans are simply too deep in their own failures to generate a win against this dominant Rams team.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Chicago Bears

Pick: Chicago Bears

Will the Bears be successful in creating a surprise win after their embarrassing showing against Tampa Bay? Justin Fields staying in contention against the Green Bay Packers coupled with the downward slope of the 49ers suggests the answer is yes.

New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Pick: Los Angeles Chargers

This may look like a lopsided matchup at first glance, but remember that the Chargers are coming off of the worst loss of the season against a Patriots team that was robbed of a possible win against a dominant Cowboys offense. This game should be a Chargers win, but do not expect it to be a decisive one as Mac Jones continues to succeed in Bill Belichick’s system.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Seattle Seahawks

Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars

It will never fail to amaze me how Geno Smith can totally collapse at the end of games. Multiple sacks given up was the cause of the Seahawks eventual implosion against an abundantly mediocre Saints team. Now with the Jaguars looking to find some wins after a slow start and playing against the second worst starter of week eight, the Jaguars will not find a win this easily again.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Expect a matchup even easier than the previous one as Tampa Bay prepares to destroy New Orleans in its own building. New Orleans deserves a loss after how poorly they played against the Seattle Seahawks, and this NFC South title deserves to be fought out between the Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons.

Washington Football Team vs. Denver Broncos

Pick: Washington Football Team

The Washington Football Team is not as bad as their record would lead you to believe, and the Denver Broncos are far worse than their record would suggest. After losing to the Browns’ backups on Thursday Night Football, Teddy Bridgewater and the Broncos should prepare to roll into Washington expecting a loss.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

It’s slightly possible that the Vikings have the better skill position players, but no offense is as well built and as powerful as the Dallas Cowboys. Look for this game to be in blowout territory as Kirk Cousins shrivels into a nonexistent entity in PrimeTime.

New York Giants vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs

I am not sure how this matchup made it into Monday Night Football, but it did. Even though the Chiefs have struggled to move their offense through seven games, that should surely stop against the Giants defense, which is by far one of the worst in the league.
