Robotics Supports Team Spirit at Boba Social
On Saturday, Sept. 17, Westwood Robotics held a boba social at 2 p.m. in the cafeteria. The club offered members milk tea from Sharetea, selling each drink for $4. The event was the club’s first after registration had ended and allowed members the opportunity to meet and mingle with one another.
“The very core of robotics is to work with a team,” President Rika Chang ‘23 said. “We want everybody in our club to have a chance to connect with one another and develop that bond because the people in this club are people you’ll be working with for the rest of your high school career.”
This bond is an integral part of Robotics. With over 100 members, effort must be put in to establish and maintain a strong sense of community throughout the team. Seasonal events, such as the boba social, work to attain this goal and bolster team spirit.
“Events like this help bring us closer together,” Chang said. “And I just want everybody to feel comfortable and you know, find some friends that they will have a good time with in this club.”
