Musical theater company soaks in applause for four undersea performances

Presented by Westwood Musical Theatre, The SpongeBob Musical transformed the McNeil Performing Arts Center into the deep sea town of Bikini Bottom for one afternoon and three nights. The cast of the musical entertained the audience with the humor and sass of their characters as they raced to save Bikini Bottom from the impending doom of a volcanic eruption. Directed by George Franco and Robin King, the musical opened on Thursday, Jan. 26, with a 7 p.m. performance, followed by a performance on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m, and two performances on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
