The JV white Volleyball team matched up against the Westlake Chaps on Friday Aug. 25 in a game that kept the crowd excited. The Lady Warriors came into the night looking to extend their hot streak having won back to back games. They fought hard through the last set of the game but ultimately came up just a few points short, falling to the Chaps 2-0.
The first set ended with a score of 19-25, and although they lost the set, the Lady Warriors remained steady and played cohesively with each player having a role in the fight for a comeback.
“I think it’s really important for everyone to work together and I think we really executed that,” Nithila Rajkumar’ 27 said.
The final score of the second set was 12-25 closing out the night with a loss for the Lady Warriors. However, although the Warriors fell short, seeing the orange and white colors around them helped them stay motivated. The loss, although disappointing for the home fans, did not take away from their support for the team. The bleachers were full of friends and family coming to watch and cheer on the Lady Warriors.
“I like being on our home court because I feel more comfortable and I think I play better at home,” Simone Riha’ 26 said.
The Lady Warriors will take on Lake Travis next Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 5:30 and will make a return to their home court Tuesday Sept. 5 to take on St. Stevens.
