On Thursday, Oct. 12, Red Cross members gathered in Coach Meyers’s room from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for an after school board game social. The Red Cross club is one of the largest clubs at Westwood whose mission is to organize volunteer opportunities for students and further medicine and humanitarian aid knowledge in high schools across the country.
This event gave attendees one required social point, which members need each semester in order to stay in the club. Members also had the option to bring board games and snacks which gave them half of a flex point. Flex points can take the place of any missing social or service point requirements. Attendees played board games such as Monopoly, Jenga, and Uno while eating snacks and hanging out with friends.
“Our social was more of a bonding experience for all of the members and our club,” Red Cross Club Historian Zara Chaudhury ‘25 said. “Everyone was interacting with each other and we had Taylor Swift on, people were dancing. I think it was a pretty good turnout for how we planned it out.”
Red Cross club will have its third general meeting of the year on Nov. 8 from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.
