Practicing sustainability while spreading holiday cheer, the Robotics Club is holding their Christmas ornament fundraiser, “Christmas Crafts”, for two weeks, starting Monday, Nov. 27, after school in the atrium. The fundraiser offers laser-engraved wooden ornaments, with holiday-inspired designs created by Robotics Club members.
“The wood that we’re using is from trees that fell during the winter freeze in January of 2023,” Robotics member Natalie Opiela ‘25 said. “[The fundraiser] is of no cost to us and we love giving back to our community.”
The club’s laser printer, dubbed the “glowforge” by team members, has opened up many opportunities for Robotics members.
“The glowforge is a great machine,” Opiela said. “It can [engrave] custom images and names, and the ornaments make great gifts for loved ones during the holidays.”
The fundraiser will continue until Friday, Dec. 8, and funds collected from Christmas Crafts will go towards robot parts and tools, and with support future outreach projects.
